Our Trust Policies

Please read our main documentation about our constitution and funding.

The Tame River Educational Trust is a company limited by guarantee and an exempt charity. We are regulated by the Department for Education rather than the Charity Commission.

Our schools are funded by the Department for Education on a per pupil basis in the same way as maintained schools. Those serving less advantaged intakes are in receipt of additional per pupil grant funding. We also seek to secure additional funds for education and co-curricular programmes for our students.

We aim to provide good value for money, and this is measured in terms of the academic and character outcomes we achieve in return for the money we receive from the tax-payer. A reasonable surplus ensures that we can put aside money every year for the upkeep and improvement of our estate, resources and facilities, as well as for investment in technology.
